Outpatient Rehabilitation Services

Outpatient Rehabilitation

Outpatient rehabilitation services will provide you treatment while you move on with your busy life.

Outpatient rehabilitation programs provide many of the same services as inpatient rehabilitation programs but they do not offer housing or around the clock monitoring. Some of the most common services provided by outpatient rehab centers include counseling, therapy and social support. These programs also provide limited monitoring and medical intervention but are unable to offer 24 hour supervision such as that provided at an inpatient rehab center.

Counseling at Outpatient Rehabilitation Centers

Outpatient rehabilitation centers provide individual, group and family counseling that is aimed at helping addicts to overcome the psychological dependence that they have on drugs or alcohol and heal from the trauma that may have caused the addiction or which may have resulted from the addiction. Patients are able to receive counseling at outpatient rehabilitation centers during normal business hours which typically range from very early in the morning to around 7 or 8 o’clock in the evening.

Individual counseling at outpatient rehabilitation centers is usually scheduled on a weekly, bi-weekly or monthly basis depending on the individual needs of the patient and their stage of recovery. The individual counseling services that are provided at outpatient rehabilitation centers are aimed at helping addicts to work through their personal matters with a counselor whom they trust and can build a positive relationship with.

Group counseling helps addicts to work with their peers in an environment where they do not have to worry about being frowned upon. Group counseling at outpatient rehabilitation centers has been proven to be very effective at helping addicts to maintain their sobriety. The most common types of group counseling include Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Narcotics Anonymous (NA) but many other types of group counseling sessions exist.

Medical Intervention at Outpatient Rehabilitation Centers

Various types of medical services are provided at outpatient rehabilitation centers. Most outpatient rehab centers provide medical support and medication administration. Many outpatient rehab centers that use medication based treatments for addiction such as Suboxone or Methadone provide medication to addicts on a daily or weekly basis. In addiction to providing medication, these centers also monitor the health of the individual and intervene when medically necessary.

If you or someone you love is addicted to drugs or alcohol and needs help, an outpatient rehabilitation program can offer you many of the same services as an inpatient program at a significantly lower cost. Outpatient rehabilitation centers provide followup care services for those who have already completed an inpatient rehab program and they also offer limited support services for those who do not have highly complex addictions.
